Making Wise Decisions

Some decisions we make are more important than others, but all need to be made with care. The Book of Proverbs gives us four principles for wise decisions.

  1. Place your trust completely in God. Proverbs 3:5,  The closer I am to God the more apt I am to make wise choices (Proverbs 16:3).
  1. Plan ahead and think things through (Proverbs 6:6-8, 10:5, 31:21). See the examples of the wise ant, the wise son, and the wise housewife.
  1. Gather All the Facts (Proverbs 13:16).
  2. Seek Godly Counsel (Proverbs 12:15, 15:22).

Conclusion: Are you facing a tough decision? Once you have applied these four principles you can move forward with confidence, keeping two promises in mind: God will never lead you contrary to His Word, and He will not allow you to make a wrong decision if you have been sensitive to His leadership at every point
