Some decisions we make are more important than others, but all need to be made with care. The Book of Proverbs gives us four principles for wise decisions.
- Place your trust completely in God. Proverbs 3:5, The closer I am to God the more apt I am to make wise choices (Proverbs 16:3).
- Plan ahead and think things through (Proverbs 6:6-8, 10:5, 31:21). See the examples of the wise ant, the wise son, and the wise housewife.
- Gather All the Facts (Proverbs 13:16).
- Seek Godly Counsel (Proverbs 12:15, 15:22).
Conclusion: Are you facing a tough decision? Once you have applied these four principles you can move forward with confidence, keeping two promises in mind: God will never lead you contrary to His Word, and He will not allow you to make a wrong decision if you have been sensitive to His leadership at every point
